The fabulous, formidable and flamboyant Quentin Crisp died on November 20th, 1999, at the ripe old age of 91. The British writer/raconteur lived his later years in New York, where he composed his own oddball plays and starred in them – becoming a member of the New York demi monde downtown scene.
Also dying on November 21, in 1945, was American humorist and member of the Algonquin Round Table was Robert Benchley. He was only 56.
